I’ve not found the learning curve on the lk150 or my 100 steep really.. I’ve made bias lace scarves, loads of cute dog sweaters, shrugs, tank tops .. fair isle, lace , cables.. I’m honestly finding it pretty easy… But! I just got a kh341 that has a knit leader and trying to figure that out is a challenge!!! The knit radar for the lk150 is equally confusing to me.

I had to laugh at the comment about wearing a sweater while machine knitting, because of course I've snagged my cuff on my machine a couple times 😆 Also, I recently machine knit some homespun, so I guess I'm not a beginner anymore, but I did still learn some things from this video 🥰

Ammonia cuts through old dried up oil like it's nothing, but it can be risky to use around nonferrous metals. Borax is a more gentle alternative that also works great at chewing through oily messes and shouldn't harm aluminum, brass, etc.

Looks very similar to my brother KH-891. A while ago I bought a brand new in box Brother KH-891 of a house clearing for ONLY £100. I was so cheap that I felt bad for the owner... Anyway, I have not had chance to try it yet as I believe I need to service the machine before the first use (even though it is practically new). I am watching your vids to get started...

The company that manufactured them needles was probably scratching their heads trying to figure out why someone wants 100 year old needles. You probably made their day. Love your voice and reaction to the needle fitting. Put your camera on a tripod to make it easier to produce your wonderful content. Subbed for the excitement of it fitting. So full of joy.

I agree, is really hard being 20 and having machine knitting as a hobbie no one knows that this even exist. Here in Brazil that's really difficult to find meetups or groups

Unlike the original Brother KH-860, this clone doesn't have the sprung needles, you can find this out by removing the needle retaining bar, if the needles spring up, the machine will take a garter carriage, if the needles stay flat against the bed, the machine will not take a garter carriage. So this model, like early Brother punchcard models, will not take a garter carriage. The reason being is because there is a "metal shelf" behind the needle bed, where the needle shafts sit, preventing the needles in B position from being pushed down for patterning with the G-Carriage, since the garter carriage patterns with needles in B position, with this extra bit of metal behind the needle shafts, no patterning can take place. They did away with this "metal shelf" on later models, which is why the garter carriage will work on later models and this is why the needles spring up when the retaining bar is removed on later models but this machine, being a cheap clone, from China, the spec from the original 860 has evidently been missed, it seems like an 840 rebadged 860. Hope this helps.

I'm yet to use my ribber, I dislike how the main bed is angled upward when the ribber is attached, can I have the main bed flat when using the ribber? many thanks again.

Brother calls those doohickies that go on either end of the knitter bed to attach the ribber "setting plates".

I know you can't put all the troubleshooting in a video. With the ribber did the height adjustment screws that are hidden on the back of the bed give you any additional height or were they maxed out?

I've had that same ribber fit problem with my Brother machine and ribber. Probably because my attachment arms/clips/whatever were aftermarket (not the connecting arm). Or maybe it's my table (that I'm not using a metal stand). Idk
